Eating Healthy on the DASH Diet

The DASH Diet is a highly ranked diet that is great for people with diabetes and anyone else who is concerned about eating healthy, low-sodium foods. DASH stands for "Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension", and it's been around for years. The low-sodium diet is recommended by the National Institutes of Health and the American Heart Association, and is based on meals containing plenty of fruits and vegetables, low-fat or n on-fat dairy and whole grains.

The DASH diet can be a healthy and delicious way of eating, featuring recipes like maple-glazed apples with spiced yogurt and granola, which is perfect for breakfasts. Savory butternut squash gratin is a veggie-based dish that skips the potatoes but not the flavor. Stir-fried ginger beef with broccoli and mushrooms is a low-sodium Chinese dish that can be enjoyed on the DASH diet.
