Eat Healthy on the Road

Eat Healthy on the Road

Many families and groups of friends will be hitting the roads in the US this summer for road trips. During these trips, grab-and-go meals and snacking are the common way to eat, but just because they are convenient doesn't mean they have to involve unhealthy junk food. It's possible to eat healthy on the road with some wise meal planning. You should start by assessing your snacking and eating habits while on the road.

This will help you to get specific about a realistic solution by anticipating the times and places where a hunger attack is most likely to occur. Then, make sure you have a stash of nutritious snacks on hand that are each 100 calories or less or a quick meal. These can include nuts, dried cereal, low-fat crackers, granola bars and fruit that is a quick and healthy way to satisfy your cravings.
